Allergy Free Medicines

Some people have allergies to some ingredients commonly used in medicines, which can of course be a significant issue and potentially dangerous to their health. Now NHS patients in UK can obtain medicines free of any specific allergen. This is a new service from Hard To Find Medicines Who are a specialist supplier of discontinued or other unavailable medicines for NHS patients. This new service is only available to NHS patients and the prescribing doctor would need to endorse each prescribed medicine AFSP to indicate the product should be specially sourced as Allergy Free. Then just send the prescription, with a completed checklist and a note of the specific allergen. Their team of medicines specialists will then obtain the required medications and send them back to you. The is a free service, no charge is made for the sourcing, but normal NHS prescription charges would apply, if you are exempt please sign the reverse of the prescription, and tick the relevant reason for the exemption. Further details are available from www.afsp.uk. A list of common excipients that might cause an allergy and E numbers is available Here Hard to Find Medicines also have a Gluten Free medicines service, for patients with a significant reaction to Gluten further information is available at www.gfsp.uk So patients who have any significant allergies can now obtain medications without the stress anxiety or risk.

About Us

Simon Carter is employed as a pharmacist by Hard To Find Medicines, a specialist pharmacy service who obtain, as the name implies, medicines that are hard to obtain from a typical pharmacy. We only undertake requests from holders of NHS prescriptions in UK, but as an NHS funded service, it is completely free to the patient to use this specialised medicines sourcing service, normal NHS prescription charges would apply. We are a team of pharmacists and technicians who work with many manufacturers and wholesalers to obtain any medicines that are not easily available, but obviously cannot always guarantee to obtain every requested product, but we will always endeavour to locate them if we can, and if we can't it would suggest they cannot be found anywhere within the UK, and you will probably need to inform your doctor, who of course can contact us for confirmation of the unavailability and for guidance on potential alternatives they might wish to consider prescribing. It is very interesting and rewarding work, most of the patients we deal with are rather distressed as they cannot obtain prescribed medicines they are generally depending on to keep them well, and the unavailability can be distressing so they are very happy when we inform them we can supply them, often within 24 hours.
